After Surgery
After the laparoscopic operation, you will be placed on a pain pump unitl you are able to take pain pills which is usually the next day. You will be able to take liquids the night of surgery and advance your diet when you feel ready.

We encourage you to be out of bed the day after surgery and to walk 3 or 4 times per day. This will help you recover quicker and prevent complications such as blood clots or pneumonia.

Most of our patients are ready to leave the hospital by 3 or 4 days following laparoscopic surgey. Each patient is evaluated on an individual basis to decide when they are ready.

You will probably be able to get back to most of your normal activities in two to three weeks time. These activities include showering, driving, walking up stairs, working and engaging in sexual intercourse.
