Dr. Eric Haas , Fellow of American College of Surgeons, graduated from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston where he earned his M.D. and was recognized for outstanding achievement by induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Haas commenced his General Surgery Internship at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and completed his General Surgery Residency at St Joseph Hospital. He went on to receive his fellowship training in Colon and Rectal Surgery at The Methodist Hospital and The University of Texas affiliated hospitals.
Dr. Haas is board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is recognized nationally as an expert in advanced laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of colon cancer as well as benign diseases such as diverticulitis, polyps, inflammatory bowel disease and rectal prolapse. In addition, he performs common colorectal procedures such as hemorrhoidal repair and correction of fecal incontinence using modern non-surgical and minimally-invasive techniques which results in less pain and quicker recovery.

Dr. Haas is the Director of Laparoscopic Colon and Rectal Surgery and has received the 2005 Chief Resident Award for most outstanding Academic Faculty for the Methodist/St Joseph Hospital General Surgery Residency Program.
In addition, Dr. Haas serves as faculty surgeon at The Methodist Hospital, St Luke’s Hospital and Memorial Hermann Hospital. He is a national preceptor and advisor for minimally invasive laparoscopic colon surgery for the Ethicon-Endo Surgery Institute and Karl Storz Endoscopy America.
